Update: Gmail is Google's free web-based e-mail service. More info here. There are two ways to join:

• Get an invitation from an existing Gmail user (e-mail me or leave a comment with your e-mail address), or
• Sign up directly with Google here, but you'll need a mobile phone that can receive a text message.
